Support Us
The Painswick Centre is a charity that exists to provide the community with social and educational opportunities. With an ageing building that's over 100 years old, we have to generate a lot of income from our activities to begin to cover our annual maintenance costs. There are lots of ways you can help support this wonderful community asset, some of which won't even cost you a penny! Have a look below at the different ways in which you can help support the Centre.
VOLUNTEERS
Do you have a few hours to spare to help us with all sorts of things like orgainsing events, helping organise food nights, working the bar at events, gardening, general DIY, decorting and so on. If you have some time we can certainly use you. Just get in touch with the Centre Manager
TRUSTEES
We are always looking for prospective trustees with the right skill sets to be able to complement our existing Board of Trustees by filling vacancies as and when they arise. We are gradually introducing a process of existing trustees 'mentoring' new trustees to 'show them the ropes' and effect orderly handovers when the existing trustee retires. We always have positions available for people from all walks of life but are particularly keen to get younger people involved.
Amazon Smile is a really simple way of giving while you shop online.
All you do is shop via Amazon's Smile page rather than the usual Amazon.co.uk, and select The Painswick Centre as your chosen charity. Then, when you buy eligible products Amazon will give 0.5% of the purchase price to us.
It doesn't sound like a lot but if you think about all the things that people buy through Amazon, it can really mount up and make a difference to us.
The Lucky Severn Lottery was launched by Stroud District Council in early 2021.
It's a weekly lottery draw with a jackpot of a whopping £25,000. Tickets are £1 and
you can buy as many or as few tickets as you like. The best part (for us) is that
when you play and select us as your charity, 50p from every ticket comes straight to us,
and another 10p goes to other local charitable causes. There are often extra bonus prizes
to be won too, like weekends away, iPads or high street vouchers.
