CORE Lighting is an inventor and manufacturer of event lighting which is used extensively for weddings in some of the most prestigious venues in this country and overseas, in royal buildings, all the London museums, and most of the famous hotels around the country. They just happen to be based around Painswick which means they can bring their powerful, battery-powered LED up-lighting to The Beacon Hall, which will transform the atmosphere of your wedding.

From simple table lighting for dining guests, decorative coloured lit furniture, to coloured uplighting the whole building, or practical lighting for floodlighting outdoor areas, they can provide it all. The atmosphere will be truly special to your own taste (bold colours or subtle whites) and any photos or video will be enhanced by the specialist lighting.

Where to have your ceremony

Painswick has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to places to hold your ceremony, whether you are looking for a religious or a civil wedding.

St Mary’s Church, Painswick lies in the centre of the village and is the largest church in the parish, its fine architecture reflecting the history of wealth from wool production and weaving in the area. Approaching from any direction, your eyes will rest upon the tall, beautiful spire of St. Mary’s Church with its golden weathercock standing some 639 feet above sea level.

Painswick Church is also very famous for its 99 Yew Trees - dating back to the 18th century - which stand in the large churchyard. Some of these grow over the pathways leading from the Church in arches, creating the most stunning opportunities for photos.

The church is a short stroll of a couple of minutes through the picturesque village streets to The Painswick Centre.

The Catholic Chapel of Our Lady and St Therese is the beautiful result of many years commitment by Alice Howard and the conversion in 1931 of what had been four Tudor Cottages. Her vision was for a Catholic Chapel which would be very simple and sincere and in keeping with the Cotswold traditions of stone, wood and wrought iron.

Tucked away in a village street, it is just over the road from The Painswick Centre.

Capturing your day

A M Randall Photography

Anne-Marie first became hooked on photography while styling shoots for a modelling agency at the age of 18. She was intrigued to learn how the photographers brought the images to life, so she signed up to study photography at the North Oxfordshire College of Art. She has lived in San Francisco where she worked with Dennis Anderson, one of the top ten hospitality photographers in the US, and then opened her own studio in California’s Marin County specialising in photographing families. As a mother of two, capturing the milestones of children and their families was of special significance to Anne-Marie, and since relocating back to Painswick in 2009 she has pursued her interest in photographing weddings, babies, children and families.

Dale Stephens Photography

Dale's style as a wedding photographer is very much documentary, although he prefers to use the term 'candid' or 'natural' as this perfectly describes the way he likes to shoot weddings. He is often asked by guests how he knows the couple as they assume he is a friend or relative!

By using a relaxed approach (but still professional) he photographs weddings from the 'inside out' getting a 'guests eye view' of your wedding day, so you and your guests can feel relaxed. The result will be that you get a real feel for your day when looking back through your wedding photographs.
